The National Elementary Honor Society
Belle Forest has established the Belles and Whistles Chapter of the National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) to recognize our most outstanding students. In addition to academics, NEHS members possess strong leadership skills, scholarship, responsibility, and provide service to the school and community.
Student Membership
Membership is open to 4th and 5th grade students. To become a member of the NEHS, students must be nominated by their teacher and have a minimum cumulative B+, or equivalent standard of excellence. (Each school chapter is allowed to require a higher cumulative GPA.)
Students who meet the scholarship requirement will have an opportunity to complete a form detailing other accomplishments and attributes. Potential candidates are selected toward the end of the school year by the faculty council.
